Sarah Bobardt is a sixth-year Ph.D. Candidate in the Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics program and co-chair of Science to Policy. In the Fall of 2022, she was a part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s White House Internship Program. She had the opportunity to attend a weekly speaker series with senior White House staff, cabinet secretaries, and representatives from multiple federal agencies. In her role, she assisted in drafting remarks, presentations, and briefs for senior leaders related to COVID-19 data, research, and legislation. During the internship, she learned how evidence-based policy is developed at the federal level.

Her favorite memories from the internship include attending the White House Summit on Improving Indoor Air Quality and the bill signing of the Respect for Marriage Act.
